The source of knowledge, inspiration and innovation springs from it, thus the significance of this department cannot be undermined and enhancement of the Engineering Tree can only be experienced by incorporating the root of Applied Sciences. The Applied Sciences primarily constitute of Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics which is like a light house for student’s basic approach.
The students utilize the knowledge in almost all the work arena. The department aims that the student should imbibe scientific knowledge with the blend of mind and aptitude. The subjects English, Environmental studies and Human Values are also ingrained in student in order to make them important instrument of the corporate world. The English is a budding seed for their career growth and knowledge of environment becomes quintessential to make the students a responsible citizen with core ethical human values. Physics and Chemistry laboratories are having excellent facilities to conduct practicals so as to enable the students to comprehend these subjects.
The objective is to provide strong science foundation so as to understand the basic concepts related to technical education. Adequate attention is given to weak students through personal counseling and extra classes.

In the development of human personality, communication skill plays a vital role. It is the communication skill which influences any body. The department outsmarts even the leading government institutes and all the other private engineering institutes in possessing the two state-of-art language Laboratories- Multimedia and Digital. The Multimedia language Lab, well equipped with a capacity of 30 students comprises of students working unit with headphones, microphones and recorders. The Digital language, again of similar capacity is well equipped with computers loaded with various language softwares such as X- MMLS, PRO, DLL, Combo and other softwares which help student to excel their overall personality. The availability of Plasma Display Panel had enabled the students to excel in the areas of technical presentation. These two labs offer the main ingredient of personality development.
Physics is the backbone of science as it is synonymous about findings reasonings and establishing laws. The department of AS&H has a highly well equipped Physics Lab with a spacious Dark Room. All the experimental setups conform to the requirement of U.P. Technical University, Lucknow. In all, there are around 40 fully functional apparatus in the lab. All the apparatus used are calibrated by the faculty from time to time.
In the domain of Science, Chemistry encompasses a wide spectrum involving preparation all metals, non-metals, plastics, mixtures, various minerals and chemicals, compounds, etc. All the living and non-living beings in the universe are full of chemistry. The chemistry lab of the department is well equipped with state-of-art technology having various equipments and glasswares. The lab offers a complete requirement as per UPTU syllabus.
